Hello there, I'm Bryson Granger, owner guitar instructor at MadChair. I am 32 years old, born and raised in San Diego, California. Originally brought up off of rock and roll and blues music, my playing naturally drew from that style and within a few years, bands like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath had led me to heavy metal which somehow led me through to classical, jazz, and funk. Pop and reggae were soon to follow... In the early 2000's I began to take lessons from Dr. Jude Wermier at Villa Musica for around six years which is when I learned everything I could about music theory. It was throughout those six years that I began performing frequently in different recitals around the San Diego area (churches, open mics, coffee houses etc.) which led to the bar/club scene playing out with numerous local bands which is something I continue to pursue to this day.

At MadChair, one thing that's very different from lessons elsewhere, is bringing in other musicians to jam in a band type setting once the student feels comfortable. This has proven to be a great aid in getting the student accustomed to performing with others if this is one of their personal goals. I'm also an Audio Engineer in training at Full Sail University, so I frequently record my students' songs so that they can have something to take home with them and practice to.  We can even get Garage Band on your phone or computer and learn to record your own playing at home, although it's not at all required.

Weekly guitar lessons (in all levels) offered in.. blues, rock and roll, metal, classical, jazz, funk, gospel, r&b, country, pop, and reggae.  MadChair (was Granger Lessons) has been labeled "Top Pro" by Thumbtack five times in a row with five stars and just received one for 2020! Only given to Thumbtacks most highly rated professionals and less than 4% of Thumbtack Pros qualify!
